Dear Astrid @ Anthoni,

All my congratulations with your decision to get married! I understand that you wish to have a church wedding. I have looked into this problem since Astrid is catholic and Anthoni protestant. I found out with regret that notwithstanding popular belief, a eucumenical marriage has never been accepted by the catolic church, nor will it ever be. The catholic church does not recognise a pastor as an official representative of God and therefore refuses that they take part in the blessing part of the ceremony. I do however, so don't you worry.

The real crux of the problem lies in the fact that the catolic church will request you to sign a ducument, whereby in the small-print you promise to educate your children in the catholic faith. BEWARE BEWARE!! Maybe you would like them to become moslim, bhoudist or even zarathoustrian. You will be authorised to change that item, but prepare yourselves for a big fight with the church authorities!!!
